Michael's explanation of his design:-

"The background is symbolic of the Aboriginal Australia Flag.
The circles represent the circle of life - Aboriginal life - that goes on forever.
The lines joining the circles represent the links to this Aboriginal life by all the Aboriginal clans Australia wide
-
we are all linked together.
The feet represent the Aboriginal People who have walked this land for over 100,000 years
a
nd will continue to walk this land - proud of who they are and where they have come from"
-Aboriginal Australia - always was and always will be!!

WE'RE BLACK,  PROUD AND JUST TOO DAMMED DEADLY!!

MICHAEL TAKES DESIGN AUSTRALIA-WIDE

Statewide Update @ 1st March 2006

Note:  Michael only receives a small percentage from the sale of each QLD plate and from this small percentage [less than 10%] he has to pay for the advertising and promotion of the plates himself - no Government support in Qld  - he has to pay for all costs associated with the production of the plates such as "Artwork fees" the registration and application fees associated with trademarking the design and legal costs associated therewith plus has to administer the sales and orders of each plate which has associated fees such as bank fees and accountancy fees - there is not much left over.  This was never about being a money making venture this is about a simple principle - Aboriginal Australia.  Any support you can offer to help promote these plates would be greatly appreciated

Note:  A big tick to the Victorian Government and VicRoads who have offered their total support and co-operation with respect to having the Aboriginal Australia numberplates available in Victoria - THANK YOU!!  Wish all the other States were as committed to the Reconciliation process as Victoria is  SHAME SHAME SHAME all you other States!!!

Western Australia   Good news WA - WA Govt is now seriously looking at the proposal we have put to them SO WATCH THIS SPACE!!    We are still seeking Expressions of Interest to Order - please register your details now [name, address, contact no; email address].

Northern Territory has indicated they are not prepared to adopt the Aboriginal Australia numberplate design in the Territory based on the low demand and the prohibitive costs to manufacture plates - we are presently challenging that decision.  We are still seeking Expressions of Interest to Order - please register your details now [name, address, contact no; email address].  Have written to Minister again asking for reconsideration and offered possible solutions - awaiting their response.  Received response and apparently legislation does not allow for these plates to be done and according to the NT Govt - not an important issue to Territorians.  WELL WE WILL SEE ABOUT THAT!! Michael has requested a meeting with Dr Burns to discuss these issues because they appear discriminating to him.  Shall keep you posted.

New South Wales - Unfortuntely the NSW Minister for Roads has advised [11 Jan 06] "these plates would not be cost-effective given the potential low volume of sales"  He also went on to say that "the new metallic style number plates ... more clearly reflect the stategic direction of the NSW special number plate focus.".  What a load of .........  Wrong answer Minister.  Have asked to meet with the new Transport Minister [the Hon John Watkins] to talk further on this subject.  Unfortunately all personalised plates in NSW carry a $160.00 per annum renewal fee which certainly does not make our plates very appealing to the wider community.   As long as we have your support we will continue canvassing the NSW Transport Dept.  We are still seeking Expressions of Interest to Order - please register your details now [name, address, contact no; email address].

South Australia - We are presently seeking Expressions of Interest to Order - please register your details now [name, address, contact no; email address].  We have received positive communication from SA regarding our numberplates and awaiting further discussions with the SA Transport Dept - very hard to get a response but we shall push on - hopefully we will have these numberplates in SA in 2008.   10/6/08 - having meeting with SA Transport Dept to further discuss numberplate submission so WATCH THIS SPACE!!

ACT - Received advices [24 Jan 06] from ACT Minister that to date no ACT community interest has been expressed in Aboriginal themed plates and that sales would be negligible due to much small population.  We are still  seeking Expressions of Interest to Order - please register your details now [name, address, contact no; email address].  Please advise if you want us to persue this.

Tasmania - are presently upgrading their personalised plate scheme which will determine the future direction of personalised plates including alternative designs such as the Aboriginal Australia numberplate.  Have been advised to contact their office later in the year regarding submission.  We are still seeking Expressions of Interest to Order - please register your details now [name, address, contact no; email address].
